Can anyone tell me the best adhesive to for outdoor tiling ? I will be using glass tiles.? I am especially interested in sticking glass to bowling balls. I am also interested in what kind of grout and sealer others have used. Thanks

With mosaic tiling, is it possible to put non-stick cooking spray on the tile/glass for easier grout removal? I'm new to mosaic tiling and have been creating stepping stones. I was curious as to whether or not using non-stick cooking spray, applied to the tile or glass only prior to grouting, would make for easier clean up of grout from those surfaces after application of grout.

Has anyone ever installed glass tile around their tub and do you have recommendations/suggestions? We are going to be tiling around a whirlpool tub in the next few weeks and I saw some glass tiles that looked really sharp but nobody I know has ever worked with glass tile so we're looking for opinions from people who have worked with it before and if they are for or against it.

How do you anchor a frameless shower door in glass tile? I have a frameless shower door that I am installing in glass tile. The tile is approx. 3" x 6". I drilled into a loose tile easily, but when I screwed a hinge onto it it broke as soon as pressure was applied. I have installed many frameless units in ceramic tile and other tiles/stones. Will the glass tile be less likely to break on the wall when it has more support? Are there any differences between anchoring in glass and ceramic tile?

What is the BEST way to cut glass tiles? I have glass tiles that are approximately 1/4-inch thick. They are made with clear glass and a colored glaze/paint on the back. The manufacturer says to score and snap them (which isn't working AT ALL) and specifically says not to use a wet saw (no reason as to why given). Does anyone have any ideas/suggestions, or better yet, any experience with this?

I have painted two test spots with Benjamin Moore paints Nantucket Gray and Olive Branch. Neither of them is making me go "Oh thats it". My whole living and dining room area is painted Bassett Hall Gold from Porter Paints (which is a deep kahaki color) so I am trying to stay away from beiges. I am eventually going to get dark cabinets and a beigey countertop if this helps. Any suggestions would be great! My kitchen started off a pale yellow, but because we have a big window in the kitchen it was almost blinding when the sun would shine in....Also I am trying not to go too dark as I am afraid it will look much like a dungeon once I get the dark cabinets in. The paint color Olive Branch I have up is like a sage green....but I keep feeling like I SHOULD go darker....but again am afraid it will be too dark with the cabinets.

Can I place a mosiac glass tile, for a backsplash on top of formica? I have an ugly formica countertop that extends up the wall for a back splash. I have done a giani granite on the countertops, and it turned out very good. Looks like granite. I did not continue to paint faux granite up the wall of the formica backsplash. So it looks nice and somewhat pleasing to the eye, can I sand the formica lightly, and apply a glass or mosaic tile, to the formica backsplash?

I need a good acid for removing a plastic film off glass tiles? I have laid glass tiles 2" x 2" squares in my basement bathroom shower walls, unfortunately they're was a protective film (plastic) on top of the tile which has been glued to the tile. Removing the film is a S.O.B., I was hoping there is some kind of acid like product that will melt through the plastic & allow me to scrape it or wash it off ? Installing a glass tile backsplash? I'm installing a kitchen back splash of 1" x 1" glass tile. Right now there is drywall where the tile will be. I've read that it is better to use cement backing board as a substrate. Is this really necessary or can I just use thin-set to mount the tile directly to the drywall and then grout as usual? Is glass tile for a kitchen backsplash difficult for a beginner? Is glass tile easy to do as a kitchen backsplash? I'm not sure if I want to try it on the wall directly and mess up, so I'm thinking if I could just apply all the glasst tile on some thin plywood or something.. where the plywood is the exact measurement as the backsplack I need on the wall, then just apply the plywood to the wall. This way easier to do, mess up, fix mistakes, apply, and can take it off later if you want to change it?

I am new to making mosaics (supplies are ordered, not here yet)and I didn't know if the stained glass sheets are used in mosaics or not. Recycled glass tiles - why are they so expensive? I have been researching recycled glass tiles (in particular mosaics) on line and am wondering why they can cost as much as £70 per m2 including 15% VAT, when the raw product is recycled glass. I assume the glass is bought by the tile manufacturer from recycling plants at tuppence a tonne but even with the added manufacturing costs and other mark ups, they ought to be loads cheaper than ceramic or porcelain. Shouldn't they?

I need help with Glass tile pendants, the diamond glaze is showing through.? I am making glass tile pendants I use the diamond glaze to affix the picture but it shows through the glass streaky, what am I doing wrong. It doesn't always happen. Any help would be appreciated.

Honed glass tile behond stove? We are having the back splash in our kitchen redone. We have chosen honed glass tiles. If the tile was shiny I am sure it would be easy to clean but the honed tiles have a frosted effect on the surface and we are concerned that it will be difficult to keep clean, especially behind the stove. Doing kitchen remodel. How do I lay a glass tile countertop starting from scratch. Nothing but cabinets =)? Right now there is nothing but cabinetry. We gutted the kitchen from top to bottom. We want to lay glass tile for the countertop and backsplash but everywhere I read says glass tiles lay best on concrete. How do I build the base and lay concrete for the countertops? I need to apply 8mm mesh backed glass mosaic tile in a 8" strip as an accent on a painted drywall surface. Probably a stupid question about glass tiles- the tiles are paper mounted? And if I'm understanding things correctly, the part of the tile I see is the back of the tiles? When I first opened the box I was upset because they had bumps in them, but after reading online it seems to say that is the back of the tile. If so, how do I put it on the wall? I've haven't found anything good online. Why are tiles paper mounted to begin with? Ok, it seems the correct term is face mounted. I meant why are they face mounted as opposed to mesh mounted.

What is the best way to clean off dried grout off of glass tiles? I've tried soaking wit water, using sponges, and I just cant seem to get all of it. Removing paint, or finish from glass floor tiles? I make glass tile necklaces and cannot figure out how the crafters that I buy them from remove the finish from the tiles. They are clearly floor tiles, but they are completely clear glass. I'm assuming they are fired in a kiln, because I've tried every other method of removing them. how to clean and maintain toughened honed floor glass tiles? i have sandblasted or honed glass floor tiles. if i do not clean it straight away when it gets dirty then dirt sticks to the surface and stays there. i have tried bleeching it. it works but is not very practical as i ahev to leave bleech for about 30mins before wiping it off. any ideas on how to clean these tiles and then how to make them dirt repellant? is there some porduct i can apply that will keep dirt away? many thanks

How can I install a shower curtain rod between a tile wall and a glass wall? Shower in question is a tub. The shower head and tile wall on the the left side and a five foot bulkhead is on the right side. We would like to install glass on the top of the bulkhead and then run a shower curtain from the vertical metal support to the tile wall. Have you every seen anything like this? Is this feasible for a few hundred dollars? I am not sure if a tension rod would apply too much pressure on the glass. A tension rod would have to run from the tile to the glass.
