What is the best process for glass installation for a small 4 pane window?

  1. If you're replacing a window pane, look at the edges of the window frame. You will see that the panes are surrounded by pieces of corner molding. Remove the corner molding to get the old pane out. On wood frame windows they are normally nailed together with small nails. They also have caulking on them. Remove the molding and the caulking. A scraper such as a putty knife will scrape the caulking off. To replace them, put caulk on the window frame, place the pane in the frame, place a small bead of caulk on the edges of the pane, and then re-nail the molding. After you replace the molding, wipe off any excess caulk.
