Where do I get a working cord for installing rear glass?

I need to replace the weatherstrip for the rear glass on my car and my shop manual says to apply a working cord to the weatherstrip to facilitate glass installation. Where can i buy a working cord? And also, do i need to apply any sort of adhesive to the weatherstrip or does it just stay in by itself?

1. The cord is simply a length of small diameter rope.Put it into the rubber gasket so that with the glass pressed firmly in place the rope can be slowly pulled away,allowing the rubber lip to fasten properly.It does not need sealer but soapy water will help ease the rubber in position.
